Whenever a new La Liga season rolls around it's typically the country's big two, Barcelona and Real Madrid, battling it out for outright supremacy, while Atletico Madrid have become a strong force as well in recent years.
But this season, the table has a new surprise package in the form of Sevilla, who are enjoying a hugely successful beginning to proceedings in Spain's top-flight division.
Current coach Pablo Machin has overseen a superb start to the club's domestic duties, with a high-profile 3-0 victory over reigning and defending European champions Real Madrid being one of many massive results in the early stages.
The Bathtubs are still regarded as massive 33/1 outsiders in the La Liga betting to reign supreme with a shock league triumph this current campaign, after such a gallant start to proceedings at the top of the table.
But, if they can keep up their form and momentum, then anything is possible this season. Just ask Leicester City, whose historic Premier League triumph is still an unbelievable feat, years on.
Of course, it will be a tough task in overcoming Barcelona, with Lionel Messi and co having also made a great start to the campaign, while Real Madrid have endured a slower beginning to proceedings.
However, no one would have predicted that after eight games in La Liga this current campaign, Sevilla would be riding high as the table toppers, ahead of the usual suspects Real Madrid, Barca and Atletico Madrid.
There's a long way to go but Machin's men have showcased their strength in depth already during the course of the early stages of this term and they will undoubtedly be a hard outfit to break down throughout the rest of the campaign.
Many look at the early process of the Champions League or Europa League competitions as something that hinders sides. But, Sevilla took to the early qualifying rounds of Europe's secondary competition strongly and helped gained momentum before any other team had kicked a ball domestically this season.
This could well have proved key to Sevilla's strong start, as they continue to look like a solid set-up in the early games so far.
They are still battling away in the Europa League group stages, a competition which they have enjoyed huge success in, in recent years, and that could ultimately hinder them in the long run.
But, for now, Machin's Bathtubs are looking highly promising and their form and fortunes seem set to be continued for the immediate future in both La Liga outings and European duties.
The likes of Wissam Yedder, Pablo Sarabia, Ever Banega and Andre Silva have been sublime so far in their early outings across all competitions.
Portugal international attacking talent Silva has been superb in particular, having arrived at the club last summer on a season-long loan deal from AC Milan, where he struggled to cement a starting position.
But he and the other Sevilla stars are currently enjoying massive success early and they could well be shock title contenders when next year rolls around in La Liga.
